I’ve always been able to identify with the childhood story of Cinderella. Here is this precious young woman who clearly has a servants heart being treated with disdain. She is housed in the attic of the castle, forced to carry out menial tasks, and considered to be of no value.
May I tell you that one or more of us are the Cinderella of today? More than likely mistreatment, abuse, and mockery have placed one or all of us in our own dirty attics. Maybe we feel unworthy to go “To the Ball”. We hang our heads in shame. We feel as though our past has stained our garments beyond cleansing…?
BUT..may I remind you of how the second half of the story goes?
At the ball, Cinderella meets the Prince. Who would have ever thought that such a discarded and lowly individual would have the privilege of dancing with the Prince? But you see, the Prince sees her natural beauty from the inside out!
The second half of our own personal story is meant to be just as glorious! Underneath our dirty garments whether there are stains we have made on our own; or stains projected from others, is a beautiful one of a kind gown! It was made by the Master who perfected every stitch to reveal your God given BEAUTY!! And each one of us has been given a royal invitation to THE BALL!
In Zechariah 3 :1-4, it reads…”Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and satan standing at his right side to accuse him.
The Lord said to satan, ‘The Lord rebuke you, satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you!'”
Verse 3-4 tells us….”Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, ‘take off his filthy clothes.’ Then HE said to Joshua, ‘See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put rich garments on you.'””
My sisters, Jesus has rebuked satan and his false accusations against you and I. WE ARE WORTHY. Why we are worthy is because Jesus has taken away our sins and the sins others may have inflicted upon us. He has bathed us in grace and mercy. He has put a rich garment on YOU!
Won’t you step forward? THE PRINCE is waiting. HE longs to show you your reflection in the mirror. The reflection of wholeness, healing, and natural beauty. He has extended His hand and invites you to dance! The Prince of Peace. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself!
Just as the story of Cinderella ends beautifully, let us consider how Jesus yearns for the rest of your story to be all about your NEW life with The Prince! He has already made the way. As He said while hanging on the cross..”It is finished.” Your sins and mine have been removed. His Word assures us that the second half of our story is even more glorious than Cinderella’s in the childhood fable. Yes; our “old” is replaced with “NEW” when we are in the hands of Jesus! ❤️
