Encouragement to live in God's sweet and empowering grace every day.

During the month of February, we celebrate a day that the “world” and our culture deems as significant. We all know it to be:

Valentines Day.

Have you ever wondered the significance of why the heart is always depicted as being the color red?

From our childhood, we are taught the shape of the “heart” ❤ is a metaphor of the verb “LOVE”. The world has colored it red. Perhaps the world chose red because of the fleshy color our heart is within our human bodies. May I introduce the idea that perhaps we should look at the color “Red” as the color of Jesus Christ’s blood?

You see the only source of true, unending, unconditional love comes from our Maker….the Lord God Almighty. The clearest way He showed His love for us was the blood and sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ on the cross. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, God required “blood” to make atonement for the sins of His people.

Zechariah 9:11 ….”As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit.”

My fiend, the Lord has freed you from the waterless pit. He has freed you from satan , from strongholds, from sinful habits. He has given you life and given it abundantly!!

So let us not look to Valentines Day as just another day to celebrate love and the heart ❤.
Let us look at the heart everyday and see it as our love gift from the Lord. His perfect, unending love that represented itself through the spilled blood of Jesus Christ. Yes ….the Red Heart ..Jesus Day…EVERYDAY!
