You are My Hiding Place

You are my hiding place; You protect
me from trouble and surround me with
songs of deliverance.
Psalm 32:7 (Verse on Bible Hub)

You Are My Hiding Place

While reading the plan, Listening To God, the author asked two questions. What is it like when you spend time with your heavenly Father? What is it like to talk with Him?

I had to pause for a moment to think on it, but the answer came quickly; content.

The contentment I feel is so real that I just want to stay there forever; sitting in my chair visiting with God. But then I hear the voices in my head saying, “That’s not a real relationship. You can’t hide in God forever.” “You have to go out and face the real world.”

You are my hiding place

By nature I’m an introvert and had just been discussing this with God. In our discussion, I said, “God, I didn’t make myself an introvert. What do I do with it? I want to be a healthy introvert and not an unhealthy one.”

That’s when He led me to the plan with the two questions, therefore giving me the answer to my question.

As I thought more about hiding, the Holy Spirit reminded me that there was scripture about it, and I quickly searched it out and discovered Psalm 32:7, “You are my hiding place…”

According to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance ‘place‘ means shelter, protection. There was instant relief as I let this truth soak in.

Imagine you are surrounded by an invisible bubble. Only this bubble is made with the sturdiest of steel or Graphene. God is the bubble and you are safe inside. Now remember the bubble is invisible so it can’t be seen by anyone including you. It’s existence has to be accepted completely by faith.

“You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand.”

Jeremiah 23:23 (Verse on Bible Hub)
I am a God who is everywhere and not in one place only.

Although God doesn’t want me to stay cozy in my living room with him, He does want me to understand the contentment I feel during my quiet time with Him can be embraced at all times as I keep my focus on Him remembering He is my shelter and protection, and that wherever I go, I am constantly hidden in Him.

If I could only use one word to describe God and his Word, I would choose phenomenal. Some synonyms for phenomenal include … extraordinary, astounding, exceptional, rare, amazing, miraculous, and incredible.

I am so thankful for the Lord and his love and direction in our lives.

My prayer is that we enter into this contentment at all times.
