Sweet Tea and Thee: 90 Devotions to Perk Up Your Day
Sweeten your life with God’s love
Hi friend! 🌻I have a precious little devotional to share and give away today.
As a transplanted Southerner, I have come to love porch swings, sweet tea (the only way to drink it in the South) and lingering conversations with dear friends. (Fried pickles are another one of my fave things here, lol) Life seems to move at a slower pace in the South and you would be hard pressed to find friendlier, more gracious people than the folks you meet here. I love how someone’s heart is always being blessed!
Meet Author Linda Kozar! I found her brand new devotional, “Sweet Tea and Thee” to be uplifting and delightful. This book offers 90 devotions to “perk up your day,” and it does just that! I can picture Linda rocking on a porch swing and talking with Jesus as she penned this sweet little devotional to encourage us all.
Each devotion takes only a couple of minutes to read and gives the reader some insight into the southern way of living. It includes a daily scripture reading, a quote from some famous authors or speakers, and then a quick spoonful of inspiration. I usually like to include the table of contents in my book reviews but there isn’t one in this book, but that’s perfectly ok.
The author created some beautiful graphics that give you a little sneak peek into her book. I will also share the following excerpt from Day 18 with you ...
Whatever Things are Good – Day 18
“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable … think about such things.” Philippians 4:8 NIV
All Christians have the Spirit of Christ, but
not all Christians have the mind of Christ.
-Oswald Chambers
Many children sing this sweet hymn in Church: “Oh, be careful, little eyes, what you see.” The hymn continues with the admonishment to be careful what the ears hear, what the tongue says, what the hands do, and where the feet go. Though we should set our “minds on things above, not on eartly things (Colossians 3:2), the godly instruction seems to go unheeded in this modern age of electronics and constant communication. Evil is literally in our faces all day, every day, including lawlessness, deceit, sexual depravity, horror, hatred, and truly unspeakable things.
SWEET SPOONFUL
Adam and Eve knew the goodness of God. However, once they tasted the fruit of the tree of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they saw their own nakedness. And after that, evil revealed itself exponentially. God’s children were not meant to see all that God sees. Only He can bear it. He sent His own Son to redeem us. Those who choose Christ must choose daily to pursue the things of God. Set your thoughts on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy.
This book would be a sweet gift for yourself or someone you love. It makes a lovely gift for Mother’s Day.
From Linda: “Pour yourself a tall glass of iced tea and revive your world-weary spirit. Sweet Tea and Thee invites you to step away from the busyness of your everyday routines and cultivate a lifestyle of peace and joy.”
This devotional, filled with southern charm and biblical insight, will help you “refresh your soul, fortify your hope, nurture your faith and treasure God’s truth in your heart.”

Thanks for sharing, Donna. I can’t picture the sweet tea with our chilly mornings right now (hopefully soon) but I can definitely see myself with some hot tea in the rocking chair soaking up these truths!
