For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 8:38-39 ESV
Have you ever worried whether that one mistake or misstep will finally push God away from you for good? Or perhaps, you’re believing this time you’ve gone too far and this current struggle is proof you’re all alone now?
If the spirit of fear is telling you God is done with you, please know this is not His voice nor His heart for you. The enemy wants you to believe that God’s love has limits but Romans 8:38-39 promises it doesn’t.
We know God is all powerful, but at times, we wrestle with believing He is still for us, especially after repeated mistakes or during long seasons of silence where prayers seem to go unanswered. This doubt can make the pain worse during the hard seasons of life.
We can start to wonder:
If God’s love depends on how well we’re perfoming.
If closeness with Him is something we can suddenly lose.
If His presence pulls back when we fall short.
But Romans 8:38–39 confronts that fear head-on …
Paul didn’t say most things can’t separate us. He said nothing can! Not our past sins or our current doubts. Not the weight you’re carrying in silence. No height of success or depth of struggle. No spiritual high or emotional low.
God’s love has never been based on your performance because it is firmly anchored in Christ’s finished work on the Cross for you. His love doesn’t weaken when we’re tired and it doesn’t disappear when we don’t feel spiritually strong.
Paul writes with unshakable confidence: neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation … nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This verse doesn’t just whisper hope … it declares it!
Paul listed everything we may fear the most but then says none of it has the power to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Think about it …
This means your worst day doesn’t surprise Him.
Your weakest moment doesn’t repel Him.
Your doubts and questions don’t drive Him away.
God’s love is not fragile …
It doesn’t fluctuate with your feelings.
It doesn’t disappear in the suffering.
It doesn’t weaken in the waiting.
Being in Christ means you’re not held to your performance but by His covenant love for you. You’re not kept by your strength, you’re kept by His faithfulness.
When life feels overwhelming, His love still surrounds you.
When fear says you’re alone, His Word says you’re still secure in Him
This right here is a soft place for you to land today …
Stop striving to earn what He already gave you!
Let this truth reframe your prayers, your failures and all your fears.
Nothing you’re facing has the power to cancel God’s love. Not your past. Not your doubts. Not this current season you’re struggling to navigate.
Let’s look at this truth again … God’s love is not fragile!
It doesn’t leave when life gets hard.
It doesn’t waver when you feel weak.
It holds you … secure, seen, and fully known.
So breathe, dear sister! You’re not abandoned. You’re not overlooked. You’re deeply and eternally loved. You are loved on your best days. You are loved on your worst days. You are loved in the waiting, in the breaking and in the becoming.
Nothing can take that away.
Nothing can undo that promise.
Nothing can separate you from His love.
Friend, even in your lowest moments, His love is still holding you. Even when you feel so far away, He is closer than you think. Even when life feels uncertain, His love remains unshakable. So don’t measure God’s love by your emotions and stop questioning His heart because of your circumstances.
If you’re in Christ, you’re secure in Him forever.
Nothing can ever separate you from His love.
Live Loved in Him today,

Sometimes it hits me like new that God loves me and nothing can take that away.
Amen! This is at the core of our identities: Nothing can ever take God’s love from us, and this is the truest thing about us!
Donna beautiful as always. Love, love your site. Mine is not so pretty, but with our busy lives I can’t find the time or will. Love you!
