The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. Isaiah 40:8 ESV

The Power of God’s Word

Hello Friend …🌻

The Power of God's WordAll Scripture is inspired by the Spirit of God. His Word is living and active (Heb 4:12) and we are born again through the imperishable seed of His living Word. (1 Pet 1:23

The Holy Spirit works powerfully through His Word to prepare and equip us to do every good work. It is our instruction manual to living victorious lives here on earth. When we read our living and active Bibles, our Bibles are also reading us. How is this even possible?

Because Jesus Himself is the living Word of GOD …

  • (John 1:1-2) The Word (Jesus) was with God in the beginning.
  • (John 1:14) The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.
  • (Rev 19:13) The Word of God is His Name, He wears a robe dipped in blood.

The Word of God is active in accomplishing God’s purposes:

  • (Jn 6:63) His Words are full of the Spirit and life, His Spirit gives life.
  • (Jer 23:29) His Word is like fire, a hammer that breaks a rock into pieces.
  • (1 Thess 1:5His Word brings conviction and full assurance.
  • (Ps 119:24) His Word is a rich source of delight and counsel.
  • (Ps 119:105, Ps 119:130) His Word is illumination and direction.
  • (Isaiah 40:8) His Word will endure forever and ever.
  • (Isaiah 55:11) His Word never returns to Him void.
  • (Eph 5:26, Jn 15:3) His Word washes, cleanses and sanctifies us.
  • (Ps 107:20His Word heals and saves us from destruction.
  • (Ps 147:15-18His Word runs swiftly to fulfill His commands.
  • (Ps 119:93, Matt 4:4His Word is a continual source of life.
  • (Eph 6:17His Word is the sword of the Spirit in the Armor of God.
  • (Ps 119:165His Word gives peace to those who love it.
  • (Ps 119:28His Word is a source of strength.
  • (Lk 4:36His Word has power and authority over demonic powers.
  • (Ps 107:20, Matt 8:16His Word delivers from oppression.
  • (Ps 1:3His Word makes us fruitful in every season.
  • (John 17:17His Word is the Truth which sanctifies us.
  • (Acts 10:44His Word, when preached, brings Holy Spirit power.
  • (1 Tim 4:5His Word sanctifies the very food we eat.
  • (1 Pet 2:2His Word is our source of spiritual growth.
  • (2 Cor 1:20His Word and His promises are Yes and Amen!
  • (Matt 4:4) His Word helps us overcome temptation.
  • (1 Thess 2:13His Word works effectively in those who believe.
  • (Ps 119:11) His Word hidden in our heart keeps us from sinning.
  • (Rom 10:17) His spoken Word, when heard, increases our faith.
  • (Heb 1:3Jesus upholds the universe by the Word of His Power.
  • (1 Cor 1:18) The Word of the Cross is the power of God to the saved.

Hearing, believing and receiving the Word of God (Jesus) is essential to eternal life. We cannot pass from death into life unless we’ve heard and received the Word of God. (Jn 5:24, Jas 1:21, 1 Pet 1:23)

  • (Rom 10:17) Hearing God’s Word builds faith.
  • (John 8:31) Abiding in God’s Word is true discipleship.
  • (1 Cor 15:2) Holding fast to God’s Word assures our salvation.
  • (2 Cor 4:2) Carefully handling His Word brings a clear conscience.

My friend, God will transform our hearts, our minds and our entire lives when we pursue His life giving Word … meditating on it, memorizing it, believing it, speaking it, living it, loving it, teaching it and sharing it …
