“Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10 ESV)
A Season of Stillness and Soul-Reset with Jesus this Christmas …
Every December, the world shouts: Hurry! Buy! Do! Hustle! Perform! But Heaven whispers something entirely different: “Come away with Me.”
What if this year … we listened?
What if December looked different this year?
Not louder.
Not busier.
Not heavier.
But holier.
A pre-determined mindset to cultivate Mary’s reverent and worship-ful heart for Jesus during a busy Martha season. The world wants to fill this beautiful advent season with noise but Heaven wants to fill it with Christ.
So, what if December became our month of stillness on the inside?
A sacred pause to breathe, reset, and realign our souls with Jesus?
Not a break from life but a return to the One who gives it.
Before the noise, the crowds, the lists, the deadlines …
What if we gave Jesus the first word and the final say this month?
Because our souls are not starving for more hustle.
We’re starving for more of HIM.
When we slow down long enough, we’ll notice:
He’s been speaking.
He’s been guiding.
He’s been comforting.
We just needed the stillness to see, hear and feel Him again.
This December, choose the rhythm Heaven is whispering:
Be still. Return. Listen. Rest. Reset.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10
I want to prayerfully dedicate December as a month of inner stillness with Jesus! How about you?
Not a rushed prayer.
Not a “I’ll get to it when I get to it.”
But a holy pause – a month of stillness, soul reflection, and quiet surrender before the One who holds our hearts in His hands.
- Because before God brings us clarity, He often brings quiet.
- Before He brings us direction, He brings His stillness.
- Before He renews our strength, He invites us to sit at His feet.
May December become our month of:
- Stillness over striving
- Reflection over rushing
- Presence over pressure
- Jesus over everything
What a delight when we decide to live December at the pace of heaven, isn’t it?
This isn’t about perfection. This is all about Presence. This is about being still long enough for our souls to remember who God is and who we are in Him.
What if we said: “Jesus, I’m giving You this month. My mind, my mornings, my evenings, my heart, my hidden places. Slow me down so I can hear You again.”
Because here’s the truth: Our souls cannot find rest at the speed of our schedules:
Our souls find rest and healing when we flow in His rhythm of stillness on the inside – the sacred place where Jesus meets with us gently, deeply, personally.
Cultivate a December like this:
- We wake up and open His Word, not our social media notifications.
Let’s wake up and let Scriptures refresh the places we didn’t realize had grown dry. - Let God’s voice be the sound we strive to listen for throughout our day:
Let’s sit quietly long enough to recognize the gentle nudges of the Holy Spirit we’ve been too busy to notice. - Trust Jesus to gently sift through the clutter in our hearts:
Trade the pressure to finish this year strong for His invitation to finish this year surrendered. Allow Him to speak peace into every wound, worry and weariness. - Steward our evenings with soft reflection and praying the Psalms:
Completely lay our burdens before the Lord – the disappointments we silently carried, unanswered prayers and fatigue of a year that took more from us than people realize.
In His stillness and calm …
- Jesus speaks to the inner spaces we’ve ignored/starved.
- His Spirit reminds us of our deep rooted identity in Him.
- His Truth uproots the lies that settled in our minds.
- His Perfect Love restores what burnout tried to steal.
The Holy Spirit begins to bring clarity.
Not rushed clarity but holy clarity.
Direction soaked in peace, not pressure.
We end the year not by striving but by surrendering.
Not by pushing harder, but by resting deeper in the One who has already gone ahead of us into 2026.
This December, God is not asking us to do more.
He’s inviting us to be with Him more.
Let this be the month we:
- Sit and walk before Jesus without an agenda
- Let Scripture read us as much as we read it
- Gently process the year with the One who walked each moment with us
- Allow silence to be sweetly sacred instead of squirmingly uncomfortable
Because before God refreshes us externally, He restores us internally.
Before He opens the next door, He prepares our spirit to walk through it.
Before He strengthens our hands, He quiets our hearts.
“Be still, and know that I Am God.” – Psalm 46:10
Can you hear your Heavenly Father’s beautiful heart for you …
“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” – Isaiah 30:15
Let’s take Jesus up on His invitation:
“Come away by yourselves to a quiet place and rest a while.” – Mark 6:31
If something in you is whispering right now: “I need this. I need stillness. I need Jesus to reset my soul,” please know that nudge is the Holy Spirit inviting you!
Jesus is already waiting for you in the quiet …
Merry Christmas, my friend …
