Peace Pirates: Conquering the Beliefs and Behaviors that Steal your Treasure
Motherhood is truly one of the greatest and sweetest gifts from God, amen? And it’s so much more than just a job or a title, isn’t it? It is truly a treasure. So why do women sometimes find themselves settling for a depleted and frustrating experience? So many women (me included) have felt they failed their families at one point or another in life.
Being a mom is one of the most important, yet difficult roles we will ever fill. But yet, if we are being honest, many of us don’t feel like we are measuring up. Deep in our hearts, we believe the lie that we are helpless to maintain the peace in our homes.
As a result, our hearts and homes are constantly being bombarded and defeated by what Ashley calls the “Peace Pirates”. If we allow it, these peace pirates will take away the peace and security God paid for His beloved Daughters to have.
As a wife, mother of four boys, and blogger to many thousands of mothers, author Ashley Willis also experienced the stress of trying to be the “best mom” she could be for God. All the while she feared she was missing out on His true treasure.
With God’s help, Ashley found her treasure in the midst of the struggle.
And you can too.
You can remain faithful through all seasons of motherhood, even the difficult ones, and be empowered to lay claim and hold onto your peace in Him!
This awesome book, Peace Pirates, will teach you how to stay “treasured up” by first helping you to identify the four stressors (peace pirates) that challenge your focus and contentment.
I love to study the table of contents before I begin to dig in to any book and I will share it here for you:

Ashley has created these beautiful leather “Shalom” bracelets. They are available on Etsy
If the link isn’t working, then she has temporarily run out of bracelets and is creating more.
Note from the Author:
“To give a little background on the bracelet, the symbols on the bracelet are the ancient Hebrew word pictures for shalom. It is the earliest way Hebrews would’ve written out shalom, or “peace”, to one another. When you look at what each individual word picture represents, the definition for peace is:
Breaking the Authority Established by Chaos
When I learned about this, it changed my whole perspective about what Peace really is. So, I thought the bracelet could serve as a great reminder. This is something I unpack in chapter 3 of my book.” ~ Ashley
Are you a mom who is struggling to find peace in the midst of the chaos?
Like the rest of us, have you found yourself struggling with impatience and lashing out with harsh words you truly don’t mean towards the ones you love most in the world? Sounds like this book (& the beautiful bracelet!) would bring a lot of awareness throughout the day, allowing me to protect my peace more fiercely! Really loving the pirating concept and being mindful as a way to protect boundaries.
Yes me too! The pirating concept was cool. I love her graphic where she says she runs a tight shipwreck. Cracks me up everytime I see that. Rachel, thank you for responding to our giveaway. We will be drawing a name this evening … ❤
My greatest treasure of motherhood is watching my daughter mature into a young lady of conscience. Her upbringing was challenging but she has brought me so much joy.
Awee love this. Candice, thank you for responding to our giveaway. We will be drawing a name this evening … ❤

“Breaking the Authority Established by Chaos” – I love this. Never thought of it like that before. Being a mom can be hard, and we can be hard on ourselves at time. When I thought of Shalom, it was like knowing the word meant peace, but the way you described it, makes me realize we have the authority to call peace, like Jesus on the boat in the storm.
I loved that quote too! 😊 We don’t realize sometimes how we are giving away our power. I was extremely hard on myself when my girls were little and that didn’t help me to find peace. I love too how you said we can speak and call on peace like Jesus did in the boat. Elizabeth thank you for responding to our giveaway. We will be drawing a name this evening … ❤
The devil wants nothing more than to rob moms of their peace. Moms set the tone in the home! Peace Pirates is definitely worth looking into.

Peace Pirates is such a clever way of communicating this concept! One of my most treasured memories has been to see my son grow in his walk with Christ.
Awee that is so awesome Teresa! There is no greater legacy to leave our children, is there? We will be drawing a name this evening .. ❤
Donna, thanks for sharing and reviewing this precious book. I love the pirate analogies and the beautiful bracelets the author has created. I will be sure to share the title with other moms!
Awee thank you so much Mary! I appreciate you! ❤
Amen! Don’t allow anything to rob me of my treasure!
