AND NOW THESE THREE REMAIN: FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE.
BUT THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE.

Follow Jesus: A Christian Teen’s Guide to Navigating the Online World | Book Review and Giveaway

Christian parents, ministry leaders, educators, counselors and anyone else working with our teens, THIS is the resource for you.

“Most teens have their own iPhones and we all worry about the choices our kids make when it comes to what they do, who they follow, where they go, and what they see in the seemingly limitless digital world they now have access to.

How can we help them apply all the Biblical values to their activity online?

How can we be assured they will honor their faith in who they follow and what they share on social media?

How can we trust that they will make safe decisions when they are surfing the web?

How can we teach our teens what it means to truly follow Jesus every time their fingers touch those screens?”

My book will show them how. ❤ – Christine Carter

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to my beautiful and very lovable friend, Christine Carter.

With God’s help and her extensive experience, Christine has created an extremely valuable, Biblically based guide to help our young teenagers navigate the complicated world of the internet.

We all know the cyber world is filled with plenty of opportunities that will test our faith to remain faithful in our walk with Jesus.

Christine’s heart is to reach and guide the tender heart, eyes and ears of the young Christian Teen as they begin to discover the big world around them.

In her very loving and conversational way, Christine speaks to the young teen’s heart with tenderness and lots of truth.

I loved reading her VERY loving words and she even begins with a very sweet letter. She explains how she completely understands their struggles and warmly offers to help them.

Her very practical guide includes the following :::

Letter to the Teen Reader
Introduction xiii
Christian Principle #1: LOVE
Christian Principle #2: GRACE
Christian Principle #3: HUMILITY
Christian Principle #4: COMPASSION
Christian Principle #5: TRUTH
Christian Principle #6: WISDOM
Christian Principle #7: INTEGRITY
Christian Principle #8: FAITHFULNESS
Good Guidelines for Appropriate Screen Time
Conclusion
Master Checklist for Sticking to Your Christian Principles

Each lesson is focused on one Christian principle. They include important insights and Scripture Verses to address the teen’s activity in the big online world. She has included memory verses, guided questions, worksheets, a way to identify goals and challenges, and personal checklists.

This incredible resource will will help them grow their faith and strengthen their identity in Christ, so they can remain faithful and stick to their Christian principles despite the challenges they face online as Christians.

The book is very beautifully laid out. Very easy to follow. And SO deep and rich with many Scripture truths scattered throughout! Christine even includes guided prayer.

I wanted to include the following thought provoking questions from Christine. Even as grownups, we should ask ourselves the following …

• If you had an option to actually follow Jesus on social media, would you? Better yet, would you allow Him to follow you? Or would you be embarrassed if He saw what you share on social media and how you interact online?

• When your fingers touch the screen, do you remember that you are a Christian? Or do you forget who you are and Whose you are when navigating the online world?

• And most importantly, if you chose to follow Jesus online, would you be willing to share what He shares? Would you be confident and courageous enough to promote His truth and His message to all who follow you?

WOW! I absolutely LOVED those questions! Don’t you??? ❤

No matter where you go on social media, you will have ample opportunity to represent your
Christian faith. It is all at your fingertips touching your screens: The images you share, your
reactions to others, the words you post—all influence countless people who may not know
the true message of Christ and what it means to follow Jesus. It’s murky water out there
when it comes to staying true to our faith, and I want to help you learn how to stick to
your Christian principles every time you get online. – Christine Carter

  5. Hi Donna,
My children are no longer teenagers, but I am now a Nana as well and loving it. I am constantly praying for my grandchildren to wholly follow the Lord although they are only 3 and 1 and I know that I will need this book in the years to come for them.
I also regularly speak with young people concerning social media so this book will be very helpful.

    1. I’m a Nana, too, and I love it as well!! What a blessing!! Thank you for responding and also for investing in the lives of young people, Monica.

This sounds like a much-needed book, as teens don’t seem to think through the repercussions of their actions, and the actions are so public with social media. For them to learn to honor Jesus in everything they do, and be given questions to ponder sounds really good.

    1. I so agree, Susan. This book even had me pondering my own actions on the internet and being mindful to always honor to Jesus. ❤

  7. I am a missionary in Honduras and we work with teens. This is so incredibly important and I would use this resource with my girl’s small group and even use it as a guide for teaching a series in our youth group.

I can genuinely find a good use for it! God bless you-

    1. Janene, it is truly a great investment for your grandkids. Christine shares so much truth in a sweet conversational way. ❤
