Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15

The Significant Gift …

As a little girl, I remember receiving a little pink bean bag doll for Christmas one year. She was very special to me.

In fact, I idolized her! I loved her and took her wherever I went. She brought me happiness and contentment.

I’m not sure why I never gave her a name, but she was one of my most significant gifts.

So I kept her. 💗

I’m sure as you look back at your childhood, you can recall some of your most significant gifts as well …

With my thoughts returning to childhood memories and appreciable gifts, I got to thinking …

‘What is the most significant gift, spiritually speaking?’

  • Is it Love?
    Is it Salvation?
    Is it Forgiveness?
    Is it Justification?
    Is it Eternal life?
Is it the truth that we are adopted by God?

Although each of these, along with many other gifts not mentioned, are substantial to our lives as Christians, the greatest (significant, exceptional, substantial, extraordinary, appreciable, prominent, eminent) gift is Jesus Himself. Amen?

Although there are many gifts given to us as Christians, the greatest (significant, exceptional, substantial, extraordinary, appreciable, prominent, eminent) gift is Jesus Himself. Click To Tweet

Therefore, He is the embodiment (personification, manifestation, expression) of God’s goodness and generosity. All of the other gifts point to Jesus and would be insignificant without Him.

Bible and MangerBecause Jesus is all in all

  • He is the Bread of life that sustains us.
He is the light of the world.
    He is the gate.
    He is the Good Shepherd
He is the Resurrection and life.

He is the way, the truth and the life.
He is the ONLY way to God.
He is the one true vine.

In addition, even the spiritual Armor we put on each day is fully Jesus:

The Belt of truth: Jesus is the truth.

The Breastplate of righteousness: (protects our hearts) Jesus is our righteousness.

The Shoes of Peace: Feet fitted with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Jesus is Jehovah Shalom; prince of peace.

The Shield of faith: All of our faith is bound up in Jesus.

The Helmet of Salvation: (protects our minds) Our salvation is in Jesus.

The sword of the spirit: The Word of God. Which is Jesus.

John 1:1-2 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” (Passage on Bible Gateway)

Jesus is the most greatest gift we could ever receive in this lifetime …

Without Him, I am nothing. With Him, I am everything. 1 Cor 6:17

Without Him, I have nothing. With Him, I have everything. John 15:5

Without Him, I can do nothing. With Him, I can do all things. Phil 4:13

Jesus is priceless! As we celebrate Christmas this year, I pray that you will be filled with a fresh awe and wonder at what the Father has done for us!

Father, thank you for opening our eyes and ears to the truth of the Gospel of Christ and for continuing to reveal Your Truths to us. Thank you for each soul You have saved and for the ones You are going to save. This Christmas, help our hearts to focus on Your precious gift to everyone of us … the gift of Your Son! No other gift on this earth will ever compare to Your incredible gift to us! Help those Who don’t know You to receive Christ in their hearts this Christmas. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

By the way, I gave my doll to my daughter, who still has her, but doesn’t idolize her like I did; she’s in a box in the shed. (ha ha) That’s probably a good thing. 😉

Blessings to you this Christmas,
